Greetings, fair and festival enthusiasts, and community members! As the California Poppy Festival approaches on April 19-21, we’re thrilled to share some exciting updates with you. Get ready for a weekend filled with new experiences, opportunities, and vibrant energy!
- 1. Junior Livestock Show Moves to Poppy Festival: This year, we’re making a significant change by bringing the annual Junior Livestock Show to the California Poppy Festival. Traditionally held at the Antelope Valley Fair in August, the move to April aims to increase participation, particularly among Freshman and Seniors who have faced challenges in joining in the past. Animals will be arriving on April 17th, with the kids showcasing their hard work and dedication from April 18th to 21st. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Junior Livestock Auction, set to take place on Wednesday, April 24th at 9:00 in the Marvin Crist & Ron Emard Show Arena. Your support through purchasing animals or joining one of the dedicated buying groups means the world to these young participants!
- 2. CREATE Festival Showcases High School Talent: On Friday, April 19th, the Poppy Festival will feature the High Schools CREATE Festival, a celebration of talent from our local public high schools. Prepare to be amazed as art, music, drama, photography, and various other artistic expressions take center stage. It’s an incredible opportunity to support and applaud the creative endeavors of our talented youth.
- 3. Education, Entertainment, Fun, and Food Await You: As always, the California Poppy Festival promises an array of delights for all ages. From educational exhibits to thrilling entertainment, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Explore the diverse array of food vendors offering delectable treats and immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere that makes our event truly special.
We’re eagerly counting down the days until the California Poppy Festival, and we can’t wait to share this memorable experience with you. Whether you’re a seasoned attendee or experiencing the festival for the first time, we invite you to join us in celebrating the spirit of community, creativity, and camaraderie.
