Patrons with Disabilities



Guests with a state disability placard or license plate may park in designated areas in any parking lot on a first-come, first-served basis. Regular parking prices still apply. Please ask a parking attendant for availability upon entering the lot. All parking lots provide parking spaces for guests with disabilities.



A drop-off and pick-up area are available at the main entrance for guests in Gate 2.



Metal detectors are in use at all gates. Advise gate personnel if you have a pacemaker. All items deemed to be a weapon or unsafe will be confiscated.



Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis for a minimal daily charge at the Main gate in front of the Van Dam Pavilion. A valid driver’s license or other picture I.D. is required and will be returned upon return of the item. Electric wheelchairs are not available. Guests may also bring their own wheelchair, both regular and electric are allowed.

Electric Outlets


Electric outlets for recharging wheelchairs and other necessary equipment are located on the East end of the Van Dam pavilion near the main entrance.

Service Animals


Service animals are welcome throughout the Fairgrounds. No other animals are permitted on the Fairgrounds. A service animal relief area is located near the livestock area. Due to safety concerns, service animals are allowed in livestock barns, but are not allowed in work areas where animals are being groomed or washed.



The Fair has designated seating in its grandstand area specifically for guests with disabilities in each of the following categories: wheelchair accessible, semi-ambulant and transfer seats, with accompanying companion seats available in most cases. Handicap seating is free with exception of the 1 st Sunday, the 2 nd Friday and the last Sunday. For groups of 25 or more that include guests with disabilities, please contact our Administration Office at (661) 948-6060 Ext. 135. Every effort will be made to provide seats adjacent to any disabled seating locations for the entire party attending the event.

Tickets and Ticket Windows


Tickets for guests with disabilities can be purchased on site at any ticket window, located at the Main entrance. Will Call windows are also accessible. Please identify your need for disabled seating at the time of purchase. The ticket office provides wheelchair accessible windows for your convenience. When ordering tickets for those that use mobility aids, either at the ticket window or by phone , please request seating for the disabled. One attendant or family may accompany guests with disabilities. The accompanying attendant or group must also purchase a ticket to the grandstand event.



Wheelchair accessible stalls built to accommodate those using mobility aids are available throughout the Fairground. Trash cans are available inside the wheelchair accessible stalls for your convenience.

Midway Rides


In accordance with ADA statutes, any physically or mentally special needs individual may ride any carnival ride, providing that the individual can enter and exit without the assistance of the ride operator and meet all other requirements (height, age, weight, etc.).

Emergency Evacuations


In the event of an emergency, you may request assistance from any Sheriff or Antelope Valley Fair Security who have been trained in evacuation procedures. Emergency information will be announced by the Voice of the Fair, sheriffs or security personal.

First Aid


A first aid facility is located at Gate 6. It is staffed by Antelope Ambulance. For proper disposal of sharps, a sharps container will be available in the First Aid area as well as in the restrooms of the H.W. Hunter & Van Dam Pavilions and in the L.A. County Farm Bureau Legacy Hall and Antelope Valley Harley Davidson Community Hall located in Heritage Park.

Cash Machines


There are five locations on the fairgrounds that are mobility aid-accessible. ATM’s are located throughout the grounds, outside + inside the H.W. Hunter and Van Dam Pavilion as well as bar locations and the carnival.

Drinking Fountains


Guests using wheelchairs can find accessible drinking fountains in the Van Dam and H.W. Hunter pavilions, in the restroom foyer.
