- This is a NON-smoking event
- No pets allowed
- No outside food or drink allowed
- Large bags, coolers, backpacks, or the like will not be permitted to enter the event premises.
- All attendees are subject to a bag and security check upon entry
- All City of Lancaster community events are gang free, no-colors events (Ordinance 953, Section 9.18.010)
COVID-19 ProtocolsÂ
- Masks are not required
- Vaccination status will not be checked
- All attendees who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms are asked to stay home.
** Protocols are subject to change. The event will follow the most current Los Angeles County Public Health Guidelines for events.

How to Get to the Poppy Festival
With Metrolink
Take public transportation to the California Poppy Festival by riding Metrolink to Lancaster Station. There are stops along the line in the cities of Los Angeles, Glendale, Burbank, Sun Valley, San Fernando, Santa Clarita, Acton and Palmdale. The Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA) is providing a shuttle service for select trains to take you the rest of the way:
On Friday, April 22, Metrolink rides are FREE for Earth Day! Take Metrolink train 213 to Lancaster and transfer onto AVTA’s shuttle, getting you to the festival at 2:24 p.m. Return on the 5:30 p.m. shuttle to return on Metrolink train 230 at 6:11 p.m.
On Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24, the Metrolink $10 Weekend Day Pass allows for unlimited rides systemwide (and kids 17 and under ride free). Metrolink trains 261, 263 and 265 are all supplemented with AVTA shuttle service with returning AVTA shuttles servicing return trains 266, 268 and 270.

The Antelope Valley Transit Authority is providing service to the 2022 California Poppy Festival at the AV Fairgrounds April 22nd through 24th.Â
In addition to AVTA’s Route 9 that services bus stop #736 and #725 at the AV Fairgrounds, AVTA will provide a 2022 Poppy Festival Special that will run from the Lancaster Metrolink Station to the AV Fairgrounds (bus stop 3736) with a stop at Owen Memorial Park Transit Center.Â
The 2022 Poppy Festival Special will run from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday April 23, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 24. Frequencies are every 30 minutes.Â
Please check the 2022 Poppy Festival Special Schedule for specific departure times from locations and for connecting with Metrolink transfer points. Metrolink schedules may be subject to change.
This is a special event route. In order to maintain schedule, buses will only stop at locations listed.Â
